Tip for Meeting–Survey your Group’s Needs and Gifts!

Tip for Meeting Planners—Survey your Group’s Needs and Gifts!
By Nancy Stafford

My husband has pastored off and on during our 24 years of marriage and is currently a worship musician. A few years ago, when he was pastoring at a church in Malibu, I had the chance to co-lead our Women’s Ministry. What an eye-opener! I can’t tell you what an invaluable experience it was for me as a speaker! I learned first-hand all that you do for the body of Christ as you plan creative and life-giving opportunities for community, encouragement, and spiritual growth. Trust me, just like you, I’ve seen the good, the bad, and the challenging…I have great respect for you ministry leaders and meeting planners!

But I’ve also seen that sometimes leaders think they know their people and what they need but it’s just not growing. With the greatest, most loving intentions they offer events and programs which don’t really match their peoples’ needs or utilitze their gifts or spur them onto serving others.

So I wanted to share with you a valuable tool we created to help us serve our women—and enable and equip them to serve one another. If you haven’t already taken time to survey your women, I invite you to do it. It changed our Women’s Ministry. Hopefully it will help you too.

Here’s the survey we created below—you’re welcome to use it for yourselves.
I pray it will benefit your ministry as it did ours. Please know that all of us speakers respect you tremendously! Blessings to you for all you do!

Women’s Ministry Survey

We want to know more about you!

What do you need? What kinds of studies/events/gatherings would you be interested in? _____________________________________________________

What times are best for you for events and studies—daytime, evenings, weekends? ________________________________________________________

We know there are many of you who want to help….and we want to empower you to use your strengths.

What can you share with others? What are your talents, abilities, career and personal experience? What do you know that others need to learn?
Do you have an area of expertise or experience that you feel comfortable enough leading or sharing with the women of the community as well as our church–at a seminar/ group setting or one-on-one?
Example: finance & budgeting, parenting, marriage, life coaching, fitness, health, fashion/beauty, marketing and publicity, career/marketplace, teacher, lead Bible study, cooking, entertaining, interior design, massage/facials, setting up a business plan, etc

_____ Yes! I want to Get Involved! I’d like to help with future events for Women’s Ministry

Mentoring—If you’d like to take your spiritual and personal growth to the next level, this is for you!

Want to learn from wiser and older women who have already ‘been there/done that’?

Want to deeply impact younger women by sharing the spiritual and life lessons you’ve learned through your own successes and failures and journey with God?

Maybe you’re a young woman launching a career or marriage, or starting a new family. Maybe — whatever your age— you need someone more wise and mature who has walked your similar path as you face the challenges in life, family, and career. Whether you’re 17 or 70, we all need to learn from others who have ‘been there/ done that’. If you want to grow in your spiritual gifting and ministry, and if you want the joy of deeply impacting another’s life just by sharing your time, caring, and experience, consider connecting with a mentor.
